Wigley Investment Holdings is a UK-based company that owns and invests in businesses operating across the real estate life cycle, on behalf of the Wigley family. As they approached their 60th anniversary with an ambitious strategy for future growth that required a significant re-organisation, they approached us to develop a new brand identity system for the holdings company and their wholly owned businesses.

Insight

We began our exploration of the Wigley brand by talking to employees, customers and partners. It was clear from the start that this was a business with a hugely respected leadership, strong team ethos and a powerful entrepreneurial spirit. Everyone we spoke to shared in the belief of the power of regeneration to unlock value in land and property assets which others frequently overlook. Grounded but very, very smart.

Put simply, Wigley creates lasting value by unlocking the potential of property and people, enabling the long-term growth and performance of their asset portfolio, businesses and partnerships. By empowering hard-working teams and independent businesses to realise their full potential, Wigley creates opportunities for their people, partners, shareholders, customers and the wider community.

Ideas

‘Unlocking the potential of property and people’ is the simple, powerful and unifying idea at the heart of this brand, connecting what each business does with how they work and most importantly why they exist. This idea was there all along but hidden in plain sight. rbl asked the right questions and was able to express what we heard with clarity and confidence.

Once we had expressed this simple, unifying idea, what followed was a comprehensive messaging platform that enabled each business to tell their individual story as part of a family of businesses. This was supported with a new identity system that allowed each business to have their own unique identity, while retaining important shared characteristics. It’s a more contemporary take on a quite traditional business that is finding new ways to innovate in a fast-changing sector.

Impact

Wigley is now set for the next 60 years of success. They better understand the role they play in the real estate life cycle, the value that they create and what makes them unique in their marketplace. This is helping them make stronger connections at every level with employees, customers, partners and the wider community.

With a powerful and distinctive message, Wigley can now confidently take the lead on many more successful regeneration projects across the region and beyond.
